Please read our Club Information Sheet for a good introduction to the club, coaching, facilities, contact details, subscription fees etc. There is a separate document for our High Performance Programme.

Before taking part in any training or rowing activity, we'd request that prospective members sign a personal health declaration.

If you are new to rowing here is a list of questions and answers that new members usually ask. If after reading these you have any other questions please feel free to get in touch.
Those under the age of 16 are encouraged to participate through the club's large and successful Junior Section.

Q: Do I have to have rowed before to join the club?
No, The club accepts new members who are both experienced and complete beginners.
Q: When is the best time of year to join the club?
The club accepts new members all year round. As a complete beginner it's normally a bit warmer to start in the spring, but lots of people do start through the autumn and winter months as well.
Q: What's the best way to get started?
Come down to the club on Trentside on a Wednesday evening after 18:30 or either day at the weekend just after 10:00 and ask for the Captain. You can also start by going on a Learn to Row course in the summer months at our Sculling School. Or, if you work for a company in Nottinghamshire and there are a group of your colleagues also wishing to try rowing for free, the club runs a Work Place Health scheme funded by Sport England
Q: What do I need to bring for my first session?
Some training kit which is not too baggy (shorts and t-shirt), a change of clothes and a towel.
Q: How much time do I have to commit to rowing?
Members in the club train between 1 and 6 days a week, as a beginner you will find you improve much faster if you can manage to get out both days at the weekend, but many people do it just for fun and come when they can.
Q: Does the club have sculling racks for members?
The club does have sculling racks, however these are often in demand and you will probably be asked to join a waiting list.
